Bidum by Laetitia Florin from Genolier (in between Lausanne and Geneva) graduated at ECAL is nominatied at the “D3″ competition that will be shown January 18th – 23th in Cologne.  The competition “D3″ is sponsored annually at imm cologne by Koelnmesse, and has been developed and organised in cooperation with the German Design Council.

Laetitias description: Bidum has no specific function. I started my research by observing lines and grids, their interaction and the resulting illusions. Aesthetically the way the product moves and interacts with its surroundings is obviously important. Made of spring steel bands wrapped in fabric, the supple mesh vibrates with the slightest breeze without tumbling or wrinkling. I want ordinary people to look at it, get closer, touch it and smile.
